The highway: lights in the dark

Imagine you’re sitting in a car. It’s around 9 pm and you’re driving back home. You’re sitting in the back seat and you are really bored. So what to do? Of course you have your photocamera with you, so you are going to take pictures!

But wait… it’s completely dark outside.. If you are going to take a picture now, you will see nothing but a nice completely pitch-black picture.

Don’t be sad, there is a solution for that! Use your ‘firework mode’. When you use the firework mode the shutter is open for a longer time. That way it’s really useful to take pictures of firework, but of course you can always use it for something else.

I used the firework mode for taking pictures of the cars outside. After a while you discover how it works and then you can even make certain patterns with the lights when you move your photocamera to different sides.

The red lights are the rear lights of the cars and the yellow lights are the headlights. Some light yellow lights are the lights of a lamp standing next to the highway.

I think those pictures are really having some special effect, that’s why I wanted to share them with you.
